The Croft was established in 1990 and quickly built a reputation for quality care in luxurious and intimate surroundings. Here are a small selection of some of the letters and cards we have received over the years from the families & friends of those we have cared for;
“Thank you very much for all the love and care you all gave to my Dad Frank. His last few months were the happiest of his later life. Dad was a real character and as you know gave people many laughs with his naughty antics. What a great word ‘naughty’ is for an 81 year old man but it just sums him up. You will always have my eternal thanks for how you cared for Dad.”
“Lynn and I would like you to know how grateful we are to you and all the staff at The Croft for the way in which my Father was cared for during his stay. We viewed many potential homes while we were trying to bring Dad up from Devon, and The Croft was top of our preference list for a number of reasons, not least that one of the GP’s who visit you gave you a glowing testimonial. We know now the reasons for his opinion. We like the whole layout of the establishment particularly the ambience of the genteel hotel rather than a traditional old folks home. We were delighted with the respectful kindliness which everybody displayed towards Dad (and all the other residents), and we think that the standard of care that he received was first class. We greatly appreciate the handling of his more awkward moments, especially the overall ethos of always looking for solutions to problems. And we value the support that you gave to us. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Croft to anyone who has the need for residential care.”
“How do I begin to put into words what is in my heart? Just to say thank you for all the kindness and loving care which you gave to Lorna in the past 4.5 years is so inadequate. From the day when Lorna was welcomed to The Croft it became home to her. She settled happily, and loved you all, and never tired of saying how wonderful you all were. I myself have also felt the warmth of your love in your kindness to me and I have appreciated that more than words can say. I am missing Lorna very much, but I will be coming to see you soon.
For now my very sincere thanks.
God Bless you all.”
“Just a brief note to say thank you for all the fab care that Mother received during her years with you. It was a great comfort to me to know that she was in good hands. Again the care and compassion shown to Mum, myself and all the sisters, during her last days meant a great deal.”
“We would like to say a big “thank you” to you all for helping to make the 100th birthday celebrations such a success. Never have there been so many cards in the past, the flowers were really lovely, the balloons beautiful and all the entertainment very enjoyable. A thoroughly good day all round. We very much appreciated all the thoughtful effort which went into organizing such a special day – one that will be recalled with pleasure in the years ahead.”
